Born into a musical family, he started playing drums at the age of six.
He played in the school big band at an early age, founded a rock band, a jazz combo and a soul band, the latter winning the “Youth Jazz Band Award” in 2014 and 2015 and performed together with legendary Klaus Doldinger. At the same time, he took piano, music theory and arranging lessons with various teachers, taught drums at the local music school while finishing school and established a reputation as a sideman.

In the same year, Peer Bothmer was accepted to several universities and began his drum and music production studies “B.Mus. Today, Peer Bothmer actively works as a freelance musician in various genres from alternative rock to soul, indie and pop to funk and big band, plays live gigs and tours from small venues to festivals nationally and internationally, sings backing vocals, programs and operates backing tracks. As a studio musician, he helps producers and artists to achieve their desired sound as a session musician or remotely in his own studio.
